TON SAVON UNVEILS AMERICA’S ONLY USDA CERTIFIED PRIVATE LABEL FRENCH ORGANIC SOAP
Ton Savon, a leading manufacturer of private label bath and beauty products from the South of France, today introduced the only French NOP (National Organic Program) USDA certified organic soap. Samples of the 100% natural – 85% organic soaps were revealed at the company’s booth (#7401) on the exhibit floor of the Private Label Manufacturers Association (PLMA) Show at the Rosemont Convention Center in Chicago.
The USDA’s NOP regulates the term “organic” as it applies to agricultural products including cosmetics and personal care that meets their standards. Accreditations earned overseas are specifically conducted by NOP-certified inspectors following U.S. guidelines. As the sole soap production facility to pass NOP certification in France, the center of the world’s beauty industry, Ton Savon is proud to offer the only French soap in America recognized by the USDA’s National Organic Program.
Ton Savon’s organic soaps are 100% natural and crafted in the South of France free of any preservatives, colorants, or chemicals and blended with essential oils or natural fragrances. As part of the NOP certification, Ton Savon can now also offer private label organic liquid soaps, shampoos, conditioners, body lotions, shower gels, shea butter and lip balm bearing the sought-after USDA Organic seal.
Obtaining organic certification recognized by the USDA for products created domestically or overseas is a process that has not been taken by the vast majority of personal care manufacturers. The NOP initiatives protect consumers from misuse of the term “organic” and make identifying organics in the marketplace easy.
“There are several health and beauty brands that use the term ‘organic’ in a way that could be misleading to consumers,” notes Dana DeVorzon, CEO of Ton Savon. “Because the word ‘organic’ is not regulated in the U.S. for personal care products, many products use ‘organic’ in their brand name or label with only a small percentage of certified organic ingredients and even sometimes containing harmful ingredients. We hope that one day organic personal care products will have the same regulation that food does.”
Ton Savon has formulated many prestige brands sold in boutiques such as Sephora and Anthropologie, as well as high-quality private label and exclusive natural and organic HBC products for market leading natural food stores, grocery, drug, and club chains including Trader Joe’s and Costco. Ton Savon’s exclusive ability to provide private label soap from France with the phrase “made with organic ingredients” gives retailers another reason to turn to the company already recognized for 100% vegetable triple milled soaps and other luxurious formulations for face, body, hair and home. Ton Savon also has its own consumer brand of organic soaps certified by the USDA, Pure Provence, which provides retailers with a turnkey solution for offering organic soaps from France.

More than 3,000 exhibit booths are presenting at this year’s show.
